Abstract
Asawidelyusedwirelesscommunicationtechnology,HSDPA(HighSpeedDownlinkPacketAccess)systemhasbeenwidelyusedinmobilecommunicationsystems.OVSF(OrthogonalVariableSpreadingFactor)codeisanessentialresourceintheHSDPAsystemtoachievehighdataratesandlowinterference.HowtoallocateOVSFcoderesourcesefficientlyhasalwaysbeenaresearchfocusofHSDPAsystem.ThispaperstudiestheOVSFcoderesourceallocationschemeinHSDPAsystem,includingtheprincipleofOVSFcodeallocation,theinfluenceofcodeallocationonsystemperformance,andtheadvantagesanddisadvantagesofdifferentcodeallocationmethods.Moreover,thispaperalsodiscussessomeimprovementmeasuresforthecodeallocationschemeoftheHSDPAsystem,inordertoprovidereferenceandguidanceforthedesignandoptimizationoftheHSDPAsysteminpracticalapplications.

1.Introduction
TheemergenceofHSDPAtechnologyhasgreatlyimprovedthedatatransmissioncapabilitiesofmobilecommunicationsystems,meetingthegrowingdemandofusersforhigh-speeddatatransmission.OVSFcodeisakeyresourceinHSDPAsystem,whichdeterminestheperformanceofthesystemtoagreatextent.Duetothelimitedsystemresources,howtoallocateOVSFcodesefficientlyhasbecomeanimportantresearchissueofHSDPAsystem.
TheOVSFcodeallocationschemedeterminesthenumberofchannelsthatcanbeusedsimultaneously,thecapacityofeachchannel,andtheinterferencebetweenchannels.Therefore,thestudyofOVSFcodeallocationcanhelptoimprovethecommunicationperformanceofHSDPAsystem,reduceinterference,andprovidebetteruserexperience.
ThispapermainlyanalyzestheOVSFcoderesourceallocationschemeinHSDPAsystem,focusingontheprincipleofcodeallocation,theinfluenceofcodeallocationonsystemperformance,andtheadvantagesanddisadvantagesofdifferentcodeallocationmethods.Moreover,someimprovementmeasuresforthecodeallocationschemeoftheHSDPAsystemarealsodiscussed,aimingtoprovideguidancefortheoptimizationoftheHSDPAsysteminpracticalapplications.
