Introduction
TheCOVID-19pandemichasbroughtunprecedentedchangestotheworld,especiallytotheeducationsystem.Universitiesandcollegeshavehadtoadjusttoremotelearningandhybridlearningmodels,whichhasconsequentlyledtochangesinteachingmethodologiesandevaluationsystems.Thisstudyaimstoinvestigatethecurrentstateofhybridlearninginpost-pandemictimes,withafocusontheJilinProvinceMedicalCollege'sgraduateprograminEnglish.
Background
JilinProvinceMedicalCollegeisawell-knowneducationalinstitutionthatoffersqualityeducationinhealthsciences.ThegraduateprograminEnglishattractsstudentsfromdifferentregionsinChinaandevenoverseas.TheCOVID-19pandemicledtochangesinteachingmethodologiesandevaluationsystems,whichrequiredadaptationfrombothstudentsandfacultymembers.Hybridlearningbecamethenewnorm,withstudentsattendingclassesbothonlineandin-person.
Methodology
Thisstudyusedaquantitativeresearchdesign,anddatawascollectedthroughanonlinequestionnairedistributedamonggraduatestudentsatJilinProvinceMedicalCollege'sEnglishprogram.Thequestionnairecomprised10questions,whichcovereddifferentaspectsofhybridlearning.Datacollectedonthequestionnairewasanalyzedusingdescriptivestatisticsandgraphicalpresentations.
Results
Thestudyfoundthatmostofthestudents(84%)hadattendedhybridclassesbeforethepandemic.However,only60%oftherespondentshadexperiencewithhybridlearningpost-pandemic.Thestudyalsofoundthat70%ofthestudentspreferredhybridlearning,with20%preferringonlinelearningandonly10%preferringin-personlearning.Theprimaryreasonforstudents'preferenceforhybridlearningwasflexibility,whichallowedthemtobalancetheiracademicandpersonallivesefficiently.Also,80%ofstudentshadaccesstotherequiredtechnologytoparticipateinhybridlearning,includingasteadyinternetconnection,andreliablecomputers.
Thestudyalsoaskedstudentsaboutthechallengestheyfacedduringhybridlearning.Theresultsshowedthatthemostcommonlyexperiencedchallengewaslackofmotivation(40%),followedbytechnicalissues(35%)andcommunicationissues(25%).Lackofmotiva
