Abstract:
Innovativethinkingiscrucialforengineeringresearchpostgraduatesasitenablesthemtosolvecomplexproblemsanddrivetechnologicaladvancements.ThispaperaimstoexploreandproposeacomprehensiveplanforcultivatinginnovativethinkingabilityinengineeringresearchpostgraduatesbasedontheOutcomes-BasedEducation(OBE)theory.Theplanincludesvariouscomponentssuchascurriculumdesign,teachingmethods,assessmentstrategies,andextracurricularactivities.Byimplementingthisplan,itisanticipatedthatengineeringresearchpostgraduateswillbeequippedwiththenecessaryskillsandmindsettoexcelintheirfieldsandcontributetotheoverallprogressofsociety.
Introduction:
Intoday'srapidlyevolvingworld,theabilitytothinkinnovativelyisakeyattributeforengineeringresearchpostgraduates.Theyareexpectedtocontributetoscientificknowledge,developnewtechnologies,andfindcreativesolutionstocomplexproblems.However,traditionalapproachestoeducationoftenfocusmoreonknowledgeacquisitionratherthanthedevelopmentofcriticalandinnovativethinkingskills.ThispaperinvestigatestheapplicationoftheOBEtheorytodesignacomprehensiveprogramthatcultivatesinnovativethinkingabilityamongengineeringresearchpostgraduates.
1.CurriculumDesign:
Thecurriculumshouldbedesignedtointegratetheoreticalknowledgewithpracticalapplication.Emphasisshouldbeplacedonprovidingopportunitiesforstudentstoengageinprojects,researchwork,andproblem-solvingactivities.Thecurriculumshouldalsoincorporateinterdisciplinarystudiestoencouragestudentstoexplorediversefieldsandnurtureaholisticapproachtoproblem-solving.
2.TeachingMethods:
InlinewiththeOBEapproach,teachingmethodsshouldbelearner-centeredandpromoteactivestudentengagement.Lecturesshouldbesupplementedwithinteractiveactivities,casestudies,andgroupdiscussionstoenhancecriticalthinkingandcreativity.Mentoringprogramscanbeestablished,enablingstudentstogainguidanceandsupportfromexperiencedprofessionalsintheir
