Theefficacyofacountry'scivilserviceiscrucialforpromotinggoodgovernanceandpublicservicedelivery.Awell-designedincentivemechanismcanmotivateandretaincompetentcivilservants,ensuringtheefficientandeffectivefunctioningofpublicinstitutions.However,thecurrentincentivemechanismforcivilservantsisoftencriticizedforitsinefficienciesandinadequacies.Thispaperaimstoexploretheproblemsfacedbythecurrentcivilserviceincentivemechanismandproposepotentialstrategiesandcountermeasures.
1.LackofTransparentPerformanceEvaluation:
Oneofthecentralissuesinthecurrentcivilserviceincentivemechanismisthelackofatransparentandobjectiveperformanceevaluationsystem.Subjectivityandfavoritismintheevaluationprocessdiminishthecredibilityofrewardsandpromotions,leadingtodemotivationamongcivilservants.Furthermore,inadequateperformanceevaluationstandardsfailtodifferentiatebetweenhigh-performingandunderperformingemployees,hinderingtheidentificationandcultivationoftalent.Countermeasurestoaddressthisissueinclude:

2.LimitedOpportunityforCareerAdvancement:
