Inrecentyears,theuseoftextilereinforcedcompositesforconcretestrengtheninghasgainedsignificantattention.ThisexperimentalstudyaimstoinvestigatetheaxialcompressivebehaviorofconcretecylindersstrengthenedwithahybridcompositeofGlassFiberReinforcedPolymer(GRC)gridandpolypropylenefiberreinforcedconcrete(PFRC).

1.Introduction
Concretestructuresarewidelyusedintheconstructionindustryduetotheirproperties,suchashighcompressivestrengthanddurability.However,theymaydeteriorateovertimeduetovariousfactors,suchasenvironmentalconditionsandloadingpatterns.Tomaintainthestructuralintegrityoftheseconcreteelements,strengtheningtechniquesareoftenemployed.
2.LiteratureReview
Previousstudieshaveshownthatusingexternallybondedfiberreinforcedpolymer(FRP)compositescaneffectivelyenhancethestructuralperformanceofconcreteelementsunderdifferentloadingconditions.However,therearelimitationstotheuseofFRPcomposites,suchashighcostandsensitivitytoUVradiation.Toovercometheselimitations,researchershaveexploredtheuseofhybridcomposites,whichcombinedifferenttypesofreinforcementmaterials.
3.Methodology
Inthisstudy,concretecylindersofaspecificsizewerecastanddividedintotwogroups:thecontrolgroup(withoutreinforcement)andthetestgroup(withGRCgridandPFRCreinforcement).TheGRCgridwasmanufacturedusingglassfibersandapolymermatrix,whilethePFRCwasamixtureofpolypropylenefibersandconcrete.
4.ResultsandDiscussion
Theaxialcompressivestrengthandstiffnessofthestrengthenedconcretecylindersweremeasuredandcomparedwiththecontrolgroup.Theresultsshowedthatthehybridreinforcementtechniquesignificantlyincreasedtheultimateload-bearingcapacityanddeformationcapacityoftheconcretecylinders.TheGRCgrideffectivelydistributedtheappliedloadandpreventedthepropagationofcracks,whilethePFRCreinforcedtheconcretematrixandimproveditsductility.
