Abstract:
Inthisstudy,wepresentasimpleandon-sitedeterminationmethodformeasuringthesulfatecontentinammonia-freeleachingsolutionofionicrareearths.Themethodutilizesacombinationofcolorimetricanalysisandportableequipment,allowingforconvenientandrapidanalysiswithouttheneedforcomplexlaboratoryprocedures.Theproposedmethodshowssatisfactoryaccuracyandprecision,makingithighlyapplicableforfieldmeasurements.
Introduction:
Ionicrareearthsarewidelyusedinvariousindustrialapplicationsduetotheiruniqueproperties.Theextractionofrareearthelementscommonlyinvolvestheuseofammoniumsulfateasaleachingagent.However,thepresenceofammoniumcompoundscancomplicatetheanalysisofsulfateionsintheleachingsolution.Therefore,thedevelopmentofasimpleandefficienton-sitedeterminationmethodisofgreatimportanceformonitoringthesulfatecontentinammonia-freeleachingsolutionsofionicrareearths.
Methods:
1.SamplePreparation:
-Collectarepresentativesampleoftheammonia-freeleachingsolution.
-Performanynecessarypre-treatments,suchasfiltrationordilution,toensurethesampleiswithinthemeasurablerange.
2.ColorimetricAnalysis:
-Prepareareferencestandardsolutionwithaknownconcentrationofsulfateions.
-Addanappropriatevolumeofthesamplesolutiontoseparatereactionvessels.
-Addasuitablereagent,suchasbariumchloride,toeachreactionvesseltoprecipitatebariumsulfate.
-Allowthereactiontoproceedforaspecificduration.
-Measuretheabsorbanceorturbidityofeachreactionmixtureusingaportablecolorimeterorturbidimeter.
-Comparetheabsorbanceorturbidityvaluesofthesamplesolutionstothereferencestandardtodeterminethesulfateionconcentration.
ResultsandDiscussion:
Theproposedmethodwasvalidatedbyanalyzingaseriesofstandardsulfatesolutionswithknownconcentrations.Thecalibrationcurveshowedalinearrelationshipbetweentheabsorbanceorturbidityandsulfateconcentration,indicatingthemethod'saccuracy.Themethodalsodemonstratedgoodprecision,asev
