Abstract
Theabilitytocontroltheelectronictransportpropertiesofsinglemoleculejunctionshasattractedwidespreadattentionforitspotentialapplicationsinnanoelectronicsandmolecularelectronics.Manyeffortshavebeenmadeinmanipulatingthefunctionalgroupsofmolecularjunctionsortheelectrode-moleculejunction.However,inrecentyears,ithasbeenrealizedthatthesolventenvironmentplaysacriticalroleindeterminingtheelectronictransportpropertiesofsinglemoleculejunctions.Inthispaper,wereviewrecentresearchprogressinthefieldofsingle-moleculejunctions,focusingontheroleofsolventsincontrollingtheelectronictransportpropertiesofsinglemoleculejunctions.Wediscussdifferenttypesofsolvents,theireffectsontheconductanceorrectificationpropertiesofsinglemoleculejunctions,andthemechanismsunderlyingtheseeffects.Furthermore,wediscusssomemethodsofcontrollingthesolventenvironment,suchaselectrochemicalgatingandsolventengineering,andtheirapplicationsintuningtheelectronictransportpropertiesofsinglemoleculejunctions.Thisreviewprovidesinsightsintothedesignandoptimizationofsingle-moleculeelectronicdevices.
Introduction
