Abstract:
Spaceborneradarplaysacrucialroleinvariousapplicationssuchasweathermonitoring,remotesensing,andnavigation.Accuratedistancemeasurementisessentialfortheseapplications,asanyerrorscansignificantlyimpactthequalityandreliabilityofdataobtained.Thispaperaimstoanalyzethefactorsthatinfluencedistancemeasurementerrorsinspaceborneradarsystems.Throughanin-depthunderstandingofthesefactors,wecandevelopstrategiestominimizemeasurementerrorsandimprovetheoverallperformanceofspaceborneradar.
1.Introduction:
Spaceborneradarsystemsusediversetechniquessuchassyntheticapertureradar(SAR),altimeter,andscatterometryfordistancemeasurement.However,thesemeasurementsarepronetovariousfactorsthatintroduceerrors.Thisanalysisaimstohighlightthefollowinginfluentialfactors:geometriceffects,atmosphericconditions,hardwarelimitations,andsignalprocessingissues.
2.GeometricFactors:
Thegeometriceffectsariseduetothegeometrybetweentheradarantenna,target,andEarth'ssurface.Thesefactorsincludeslantrange,depressionangle,layover,andshadowing.Slantrangeerrorsoccurduetothedifferencebetweenthetruedistanceandthemeasureddistancealongthelineofsight.Depressionangleaffectstherangemeasurementastheangledeviatesfromtheperpendicularselection.LayoverandshadowingarecrucialforSARsystems,astheyaffecttheresolutionanddistortionoftheradarimage.
