Abstract:
Archeryhasbeenincreasinglypopularasarecreationalactivityandacompetitivesport.Theaccuracyandconsistencyofanarcher'sshotlargelydependonmaintainingtherightcontactforcebetweenthebowstringandthearcher'sfingers.Therefore,themeasurementofcontactforcehardpointsinarcherymonitoringsystemsplaysacrucialroleinevaluatinganarcher'sperformanceandprovidingmeaningfultrainingfeedback.Thisstudyaimstoexplorevarioustechniquesandtechnologiesemployedinmeasuringthecontactforcehardpointsinarcherymonitoringsystems.
1.Introduction
Archerymonitoringsystemshavebecomeessentialtoolsforarchers,coaches,andresearchersinmonitoringandimprovingshootingperformance.Thecontactforcehardpoints,wherethebowstringcontactsthearcher'sfingers,haveasignificantimpactontheaccuracy,consistency,andcomfortofanarcher'sshot.Therefore,accuratelymeasuringandanalyzingcontactforcehardpointsisofutmostimportanceinarcherymonitoringsystems.
2.TraditionalMeasurementTechniques
Historically,archersusedsubjectivemethodstoevaluatetheircontactforcehardpoints,basedontheirexperienceandfeeling.However,suchsubjectiveassessmentslackobjectivityandconsistency.Overtime,archeryresearchersintroduceddifferenttechniquestomeasurecontactforcehardpointsmoreaccurately.
2.1.ForceSensingResistors(FSRs)
FSRsarewidelyusedtomeasurecontactforcehardpointsinarcherymonitoringsystems.Theseresistorschangetheirresistancewhenpressureisappliedtotheirsurface.PlacingtheFSRsonthecontactpointsallowsforthereal-timemeasurementoftheforceduringtheshot.However,theaccuracyofFSRscanbeaffectedbyfactorsliketemperatureandhumidity.
2.2.StrainGauges
Straingaugesareanotherpopularchoiceformeasuringcontactforcehardpoints.Thesedevicesworkontheprincipleofmeasuringthestraininamaterialwhensubjectedtoanexternalforce.Straingaugescanprovideaccuratemeasurementswhenproperlycalibrated.However,theyrequirecarefulinstallationandmightaffecttheperformanceofthearcherduetotheirsizeandweight.
