Abstract:
Fireaccidentsingrainandcottonstoragefacilitiesrepresentasignificantthreattobothhumanlivesandtheeconomy.Toaddressthisissue,thispaperintroducesanovelfirefightinggelformulationbydevelopingasodiumalginate-montmorillonite-ammoniumpolyphosphateternaryhybridgel.Thegelcombinestheadvantagesofsodiumalginate,montmorillonite,andammoniumpolyphosphatetoprovideexcellentfireextinguishingandflameretardantcapabilities.Thispaperexploresthesynthesis,characterization,andperformanceevaluationofthegel,aswellasitsapplicationingrainandcottonstorageenvironments.Thefindingssuggestthatthesodiumalginate-montmorillonite-ammoniumpolyphosphateternaryhybridgelexhibitspromisingpotentialasaneffectivefiresuppressionagentinagriculturalstoragefacilities.
