Abstract:
Theever-increasingdemandforwirelesscommunicationhasledtotheemergenceofadhocnetworks,whichcatertotheneedsofmobiledevicesinaflexiblemanner.OnecrucialaspectofthesenetworksliesinthebehavioroftheTransmissionControlProtocol(TCP),whichplaysapivotalroleinensuringreliabledatatransmission.However,thepresenceofmobilityposesuniquechallengestoTCPperformance.ThispaperaimstoanalyzetheTCPperformanceunderdifferentmobilitymodelsinadhocnetworks,tounderstandtheimpactofmobilityonTCP’sreliability,throughput,anddelaycharacteristics.

1.Introduction
Adhocnetworksarecharacterizedbytheabsenceoffixedinfrastructure,allowingmobiledevicestoformadynamicnetworkonthefly.TCP,afundamentaltransportprotocol,hasbeenwidelydeployedinadhocnetworksduetoitsabilitytoprovidereliabledatatransmission.However,thedynamicnatureofadhocnetworkscansignificantlyaffectTCPperformanceduetounpredictablechangesinnetworktopologycausedbynodemobility.ThispaperaimstoinvestigatetheimpactofmobilityonTCPperformancebyanalyzingdifferentmobilitymodels.
2.RelatedWork
PreviousstudieshaveinvestigatedtheTCPperformanceinadhocnetworks,focusingonvariousmetricssuchasthroughput,reliability,anddelay.SomestudieshaveevaluatedTCPunderspecificmobilitymodels,suchastheRandomWaypoint,GroupMobility,andManhattanmodels.However,acomprehensiveanalysisofTCPperformanceundervariousmobilitymodelsisstilllacking.
3.MobilityModels
TounderstandtheimpactofmobilityonTCPperformance,weconsiderthreecommonlyusedmobilitymodels:RandomWaypoint(RW),GroupMobility(GM),andManhattanMobility(MM).TheRWmodelallowsnodestomoverandomlywithinagivenregion.GMsimulatesrealisticscenarioswherenodesmoveingroupsorclusters.MMrepresentsmovementpatternstypicallyobservedinurbanenvironments.
