Abstract
Withtheincreasingamountofdatabeingproducedandstoredinthecloud,theissueofensuringitsintegrityhasbecomecrucial.OneapproachtothischallengeistheuseofGrid-BasedSignatureVerification(GBSV)methodwhichenablesclouduserstoverifythattheirstoreddatahasremainedunchanged.Inthispaper,weprovideacomprehensiveanalysisofGBSVmethodwhichinvolvestheuseofgridandsignaturetechniques.Asanovelcloudstorageintegrityapproach,GBSVensuresdatasecurityandprovidesanefficientverificationprocess.
Introduction
Inthecloudcomputingera,datastorageandprocessinghavebecomecentralized,withmanyorganizationschoosingcloudserviceproviderstostoretheirdata.However,withthecentralizedstorage,cloudsecurityandprivacyissueshaveincreasinglybecomeaconcern.Oneofthemajorchallengesfacedbyorganizationsisensuringtheintegrityoftheirstoreddata.Cloudstorageintegrityistheprocessofensuringthatthedatastoredinthecloudhasnotbeenalteredortamperedwith.Tomitigatetheriskofunauthorizedaccess,dataloss,anddatacorruption,variousintegrityverificationapproacheshavebeenproposed.
Grid-BasedSignatureVerification(GBSV)isanovelcloudstorageintegrityapproachthatprovidesintegrityverificationofclouddatabymakinguseofgridsandsignaturetechniques.Ithasgainedmuchattentionduetoitsefficiencanditsabilitytoverifytheintegrityofclouddatawithoutdownloadingthedata.Inthispaper,weprovideancomprehensiveanalysisofGBSVapproach.
Grid-BasedSignatureVerification(GBSV)
TheGBSVapproachisacloudstorageintegrityverificationtechniquethatusesgridandsignatureverificationtechniques.Itinvolvesthepartitioningofclouddataintogridcellsandgeneratingsignaturemetadataforeachcell.Thesignaturemetadataisstoredinacertificateandisusedtoverifytheintegrityofthedatawithouttheneedtodownloadthedata.
