Abstract:
TheliftcoefficientisacrucialparameterinunderstandingtheaerodynamicperformanceofarotatingcylinderatlowReynoldsnumbers.Inthisstudy,anumericalanalysisisconductedtoinvestigatetheliftcoefficientforarotatingcylinderanditsdependenceonvariousfactorssuchasrotationalspeedandReynoldsnumber.Thecomputationalfluiddynamics(CFD)techniqueisemployedtosimulatetheflowfieldaroundthecylinderandcalculatetheliftcoefficient.TheresultsdemonstratethesignificanceofReynoldsnumberindeterminingtheliftcoefficientandprovidevaluableinsightsintotheaerodynamiccharacteristicsofrotatingcylindersatlowReynoldsnumbers.
1.Introduction:
Rotatingcylindersarewidelyencounteredinengineeringapplications,rangingfromhelicopterrotorstowindturbineblades.Understandingtheaerodynamicperformanceofrotatingcylindersiscrucialforoptimizingtheirdesignandensuringefficientoperation.Theliftcoefficient,whichquantifiestheliftforcegeneratedbythecylinder,playsavitalroleindeterminingitsaerodynamicefficiency.AtlowReynoldsnumbers,theflowcharacteristicsaroundrotatingcylindersdiffersignificantlyfromthoseathigherReynoldsnumbers,makingtheanalysisofliftcoefficientsmorechallengingandintriguing.
