Abstract:
Withtheincreasingdemandforsustainableandcost-effectiveconstructionpractices,theuseofprefabricatedcomponentshasgainedsignificantattentioninrecentyears.Prefabricatedcomponentsoffervariousadvantagesincludingreducedconstructiontime,improvedqualitycontrol,andcostsavings.However,optimizingtheproductioncostsofthesecomponentsremainschallengingduetothepresenceofmultipleconflictingobjectives.Thispaperproposesamulti-objectiveoptimizationapproach,calledSD-MOP,toaddressthisissue.TheSD-MOPframeworkcombinestheSystemDynamics(SD)modelingtechniqueandtheMulti-ObjectiveOptimization(MOP)approachtooptimizetheproductioncostsofprefabricatedcomponents.Theproposedapproachaimstoenabledecision-makerstomakeinformeddecisionsthatbalancebotheconomicandenvironmentalconsiderations.
