Abstract:
Thispaperexploresthegenerationandcorrelationperformanceofm-sequencesusingMATLAB.m-sequences,alsoknownasmaximallengthsequencesorpseudo-randombinarysequences,havewideapplicationsinfieldssuchascommunicationsystems,cryptography,anddigitalsignalprocessing.Theaimofthisstudyistounderstandtheprinciplesbehindm-sequencegenerationandtoevaluatetheircorrelationpropertiesintermsofautocorrelationandcross-correlation.MATLABprovidesapowerfulandversatileplatformforimplementingm-sequencegenerationalgorithmsandanalyzingtheirperformance.Throughsimulationandanalysis,thispaperdemonstratestheeffectivenessofm-sequencesingeneratingpseudo-randombinarysequenceswithdesirablecorrelationproperties.
1.Introduction:

Pseudo-randombinarysequences,suchasm-sequences,arewidelyusedinvariousapplicationsrequiringrandomness,noise-likeproperties,andgoodautocorrelationandcross-correlationcharacteristics.Themathematicalpropertiesandalgorithmicgenerationofm-sequencesmakethemsuitablefortheseapplications.Understandingandsimulatingthegenerationandcorrelationperformanceofm-sequencesusingMATLABcancontributetothedesignandevaluationofsystemsthatrelyonthem.

m-sequencesarebinarysequencesoflength2^m-1,wheremisanintegerrepresentingthenumberofstagesintheshiftregisterusedforgeneration.Thesesequenceshavedesirablepropertiessuchasmaximallength,goodautocorrelation,andlowcross-correlation.
