PursuanttoTheContractLawofthePeople'sRepublicofChina（hereinafterthe"ContractLaw"）,andwithaviewtofacilitatingtheproperadjudicationofcontractualdisputes,weherebypromulgatethefollowinginterpretationsofcertainissuesconcerningtheapplicationoftheContractLawbyPeople'sCourts: I.ScopeofApplicationoftheLawClause1WhereasuitisbroughttoaPeople'sCourtinrespectofadisputearisingoutofacontractformedaftertheoperativedateoftheContractLaw,theprovisionsoftheContractLawshallapply;whereasuitisbroughttoaPeople'sCourtinrespectofadisputeconcerningacontractformedbeforetheoperativedateoftheContractLaw,exceptotherwiseprovidedherein,theprovisionsofthelawineffectatthetimeshallapply,providedthatifthelawineffectatthetimedidnotprovideforsuchmatter,therelevantprovisionoftheContractLawmayapply.
