第一篇：奥巴马的白宫开斋晚宴讲稿（模版）THEWHITEHOUSEOfficeofthePressSecretaryAugust13,2010REMARKSBYTHEPRESIDENTATIFTARDINNERStateDiningRoom8:37P.M.EDTTHEPRESIDENT:Goodevening,everybody.Welcome.Please,haveaseat.Well,welcometotheWhiteHouse.Toyou,toMuslimAmericansacrossourcountry,andtomorethanonebillionMuslimsaroundtheworld,Iextendmybestwishesonthisholymonth.RamadanKareem.Iwanttowelcomemembersofthediplomaticcorps;membersofmyadministration;andmembersofCongress,includingRushHolt,JohnConyers,andAndreCarson,whoisoneoftwoMuslimAmericanmembersofCongress,alongwithKeithEllison.Sowelcome,allofyou.HereattheWhiteHouse,wehaveatraditionofhostingiftarsthatgoesbackseveralyears,justaswehostChristmaspartiesandsedersandDiwalicelebrations.AndtheseeventscelebratetheroleoffaithinthelivesoftheAmericanpeople.TheyremindusofthebasictruththatweareallchildrenofGod,andwealldrawstrengthandasenseofpurposefromourbeliefs.TheseeventsarealsoanaffirmationofwhoweareasAmericans.OurFoundersunderstoodthatthebestwaytohonortheplaceoffaithinthelivesofourpeoplewastoprotecttheirfreedomtopracticereligion.IntheVirginiaActofEstablishingReligionFreedom,ThomasJeffersonwrotethat―allmenshallbefreetoprofess,andbyargumenttomaintain,theiropinionsinmattersofreligion.‖TheFirstAmendmentofourConstitutionestablishedthefreedomofreligionasthelawoftheland.Andthatrighthasbeenupheldeversince.Indeed,overthecourseofourhistory,religionhasflourishedwithinourborderspreciselybecauseAmericanshavehadtherighttoworshipastheychoose—includingtherighttobelieveinnoreligionatall.AnditisatestamenttothewisdomofourFoundersthatAmericaremainsdeeplyreligious—anationwheretheabilityofpeoplesofdifferentfaithstocoexistpeacefullyandwithmutualrespectforoneanotherstandsinstarkcontrasttothereligiousconflictthatpersistselsewherearoundtheglobe.Now,that'snottosaythatreligioniswithoutcontroversy.Recently,attentionhasbeenfocusedontheconstructionofmosquesincertaincommunities—particularlyNewYork.Now,wemustallrecognizeandrespectthesensitivitiessurroundingthedevelopment
