第一篇：机遇与挑战英文演讲稿全球化：中国年轻一代所面临的机遇和挑战！Globalization:ChallengesandOpportunitiesforChina'sYoungerGeneration全球化：中国年轻一代所面临的机遇和挑战（这是第七届“21世纪爱立信杯”全国英语演讲比赛冠军孙宁的演讲稿）Goodmorning,ladiesandgentlemen.TodayI'mveryhappytobeheretosharewithyousomeofmythoughtsonthetopicofGlobalization.Andfirstofall,Iwouldliketomentionaneventinourrecenthistory.Thirtyyearsago,AmericanPresidentRichardNixonmadeanepoch-makingvisittoChina,acountrystillisolatedatthattime.PremierZhouEnlaisaidtohim,”Yourhandshakecameoverthevastestoccanintheworld----twenty-fiveyearsofnocommunication.”Eversincethen,ChinaandAmericahaveexchangedmanyhandshakesofvariouskinds.Thefundamentalimplicationofthisexampleisthattheneedanddesiretocommunicateacrossdifferencesincultureandideologyisnotonlyfeltbutthetwocountriesbutbymanyothernationsaswell.Aswecanseetoday,environmentalistsfromdiffrerntcountrisearemakingjointeffortstoaddresstheissueofglobalwarming,econormistsareseekingsolutionstofinancialcrisesthatrangeinaparticularregion,butnonethelesscrippletheworld’secononmy,anddiplomatsandpoliticiansaregettingtogethertodiscusstheissueofcombatingterrorism.Peaceandprosperityhasbecomeacommongoalthatwearestrivingforallovertheworld.UndelyingthismighttrendofglobalizationistheechoofE.M.Forster’swords,“Onlyconnect!”WiththeITrevolutiontakingplace,traditionalboundariesofhumansocietyfallaway.Ourculture,politics,societyandcommercearebeingsloshedintoalargemeltingpotofhumanity.Inthisinterlinkedworld,therearenooutsiders,foradisturbanceinoneplaceislikelytoimpactotherpartsoftheglobe.Wehavebeguntorealizethataworldpidedcannotendure.Chinaisnowactivelyintegratingintotheworld.OurrecententrytotheWTOisagoodexample.Fordecades,wehavetakenprideinbeingself-reliant,butnowwerealizetheimportanceofparticipatinginandcontributingtoabroadereconomicorder.FromtheprecariousroleintheworldarenatoourpersentWTOmenbership,wehavecomealongway.Butwhatdoesthewayaheadlooklike?Insomepartsoftheworldpeoplearedemonstratingagainstglobalization.Aretheyjustifiedthen,incriticizingtheglobalz
