第一篇：美国总统演讲稿学英语WASHINGTON—Inthisweek’saddress,PresidentObamaexpressedthegratitudeoftheentirenationtothebravemenandwomenwhohaveservedinthewarinIraq,andwelcomedourtroopshomeaswemarktheofficialendtothewar.ThishistoricachievementwouldnotbepossiblewithouttheskillanddedicationofthemenandwomenoftheUnitedStatesArmedForces.Theyproveeverydaythatwhenwecometogether,thereisnothingwecannotdo.Nowit’stimetofollowtheirexample,putasidepartisanship,andrebuildoureconomysothateveryAmericanwhowantstoworkcanfindajob,andeveryonehastheopportunitytomakeitiftheytry.RemarksofPresidentBarackObamaWeeklyAddressTheWhiteHouseSaturday,December17,2011Thisweekmarkedanhistoricmomentinthelifeofourcountryandourmilitary.Fornearlynineyears,ournationhasbeenatwarinIraq.Morethan1.5millionAmericanshaveservedtherewithhonor,skill,andbravery.Tensofthousandshavebeenwounded.Militaryfamilieshavesacrificedgreatly–nonemoresothanthefamiliesofthosenearly4,500Americanswhomadetheultimatesacrifice.Allofthem–ourtroops,veterans,andtheirfamilies–willalwayshavethethanksofagratefulnation.OnThursday,thecolorsourArmedForcesfoughtunderinIraqwereformallycasedinaceremonyinBaghdadbeforebeginningtheirjourneybackhome.Ourtroopsarenowpreparingtomaketheirfinalmarchacrosstheborderandoutofthecountry.Iraq’sfuturewillbeinthehandsofitsownpeople.Ourwartherewillbeover.AllofourtroopswillbeoutofIraq.Andthisholidayseason,allofuscanfinallysay:welcomehome.Thisisanextraordinaryachievement–onemadepossiblebythehardworkandsacrificeofthemenandwomenwhohadthecouragetoserve.Andthere’salessontolearnfromthat–alessonaboutourcharacterasanation.See,there’sareasonourmilitaryisthemostrespectedinstitutioninAmerica.Theydon’tseethemselvesoreachotherasDemocratsfirstorRepublicansfirst.TheyseethemselvesasAmericansfirst.Forallourdifferencesanddisagreements,theyremindusthatweareallapartofsomethingbigger;thatweareonenationandonepeople.Andforallourchallenges,theyremindusthatthereisnothingwecan’tdowhenwesticktogether.They’rethefinestournationhastooffer.Manywillrema
