做主语（主要出现在可以用forsbtodo结构做主语的句型中，以fortheretobe的形式存在，可用it做形式主语。）

做宾语
做expect，hate，intend，like，mean，prefer，want，wish等可以后接sbtodo做宾语的动词的宾语。
Idonotwanttheretobeanyoneknowingmysecret.我不希望有任何人知道我的秘密。
Iexpecttheretobeapartyinourcompanytomorrow.我盼望我们公司明天举行一个聚会。
2）用在askfor，callfor，carefor，hopefor，planfor，preparefor，waitfor等含for的短语动词后。
Wehopefortheretobenowarsandkillingsintheworld.
我们希望世界上没有战争和杀戮。
TheyplannedfortheretobeameetingonMonday.
他们计划周一开会。
3,做表语，以fortheretobe的形式存在
Ourhopeisfortheretobepeacefulworld.
我们希望世界和平。
Whatheexpectedwasfortheretobenoiseinclass.
他希望课堂上不安静。

2,做宾语
1）做介词的宾语
Ineverdreamedofthereoftherebeingsomanyanimalsinthemountainshere.
我从没有想到这里的山中会有这么多的动物。
Hewassurprisedattherebeingsomanypeoplewaitingthere.
他对很多人等在那里感到吃惊。
2)需要后接ing的及物动词的宾语
I’llpreventtherebeinganydoubtaboutit.
我不会让人对此产生任何怀疑。
Doesitmeantherebeingnothingleftforus.
这是不是意味着没给我们留下什么。
3,构成独立主格结构，做状语
Therebeingnobus,wehadtowalkthere.
因为没有公交车，我们只好步行去那里。
Therehavingbeennorainforhalfayear,allthecropsinthefieldweredry.
半年没有下雨，地里的庄稼都旱了。
