Part1TeachingMaterial
ThecontentofmylessonisNewStandardEnglishBook7module1.Thismoduleisaboutbasketball.Bystudyingofthismodule,we’llenablestudentstoknowmoreaboutbasketballandsomefamousplayerssuchasMichaelJordonandWiltChamberlainandtodeveloptheinterestinbasketballandsports.Atthesametime,letthestudentslearnhowtoexpressfeelingsandemotionswithsomeadjectivesendingin–ingor-ed.ThereadingmaterialisabouttwofamousplayersMichaelJordanandwiltchamberlain.Foreachperson,thereisaseparatepassagetodescribetheirbackgroundandtellushowfantastictheirachievementis.Ithinkthistextismeaningful.BecausemostofourstudentsknowwhoisMichaelJordon,butmanyofthemknowlittleabouthisexperience.AndmanyteenagersdonotknowWiltChamberlain,becauseheisbornin1936anddiedin1999whenourstudentswerejust4-5yearsold.Throughthistextboysandgirlscouldnotonlylearnsomeusefullanguagepointsbutalsobroadentheirhorizon.Asweallknow,readingbelongstotheinputduringtheprocessofthelanguagelearning.Theinputhasgreateffectonoutput,suchasspeakingandwriting.Therefore,thislessonisintheimportantpositionofthismodule.IftheSscanmasteritwell,itwillbehelpfulforthemtolearntherestofthismodule.
