amendingAnnexIIIatoDirective2000/13/ECoftheEuropeanParliamentandoftheCouncilas
regardscertainfoodingredients
(TextwithEEArelevance)

THECOMMISSIONOFTHEEUROPEANCOMMUNITIES,EuropeanFoodSafetyAuthority(EFSA).Thoseappli-
cationsconcernsubstancesforwhichprovisional
exemptionsweregrantedbyDirective2005/26/EC.On
thebasisoftheEFSAopinionsandotheravailableinfor-
HavingregardtotheTreatyestablishingtheEuropeanmation,itcanbeconcludedthatcertainingredientsor
Community,substancesderivedfromthoseingredientslistedinAnnex
IIIatoDirective2000/13/ECarenotlikely,underspecific
circumstances,tocauseadversereactionsinsusceptible
individuals.
HavingregardtoDirective2000/13/ECoftheEuropean
ParliamentandoftheCouncilof20March2000onthe
approximationofthelawsoftheMemberStatesrelatingto

thelabelling,presentationandadvertisingoffoodstuffs(),and(5)Thoseingredientsorsubstancesderivedfromthose
inparticularthirdsubparagraphofArticle6(11)andArticle21ingredientsshouldthereforebepermanentlyexcluded
thereof,fromAnnexIIIatoDirective2000/13/EC.


Whereas:
(6)AnnexIIIaofDirective2000/13/ECshouldbeamended
accordingly.

(1)AnnexIIIatoDirective2000/13/ECestablishesalistof
foodingredientswhichmustbeindicatedonthelabelof
foodstuffsastheyarelikelytocauseadversereactionsin(7)Directive2005/26/ECshouldberepealedon
susceptibleindividuals.26November2007inviewofthedeadlinesetby
Article6(11),secondsubparagraphofDirective
2000/13/EC.

(2)Directive2000/13/ECprovidesforthepossibilityof
excludingfromthelabellingrequirementingredientsor
substancesderivedfromingredientslistedinAnnexIIIa(8)Inordertoavoiddisruptionofthemarket,itisnecessary
forwhichithasbeenscientificallyestablishedthattheyforthisDirectivetoapplyfromthe26November2007.
