internalandexternaldemand,somebelievethatexportsshouldbereducedwhiledomesticdemandisincreased,whileothersadvocatetheruralmarketasthekeystoneofincreasingdomesticdemand.WhythenshouldChinarelyondomesticdemandtodevelopitseconomy?Tocopewithdecliningexternaldemandismerelyatemporaryreason.ThefundamentalreasonsfordoingsoaretochangeChina’sunbalancedindustrialstructureandinternal-externaleconomicarrangementsandtotakefulladvantageofthedomesticmarkettodeveloptheeconomy.Ononehand,theinternal-externalimbalancerepresentedbythehugetradesurplushasgivenrisetoenormousforeignexchangereserves,pressureforRMBappreciation,assetbubbles,adeterioratingenvironmentandotherproblems.Thismodelofunbalancedgrowthwillbehardtosustain.Ontheotherhand,China’sdomesticmarket,withitsgreatpotential,isableto
