Chapter1GeneralPrinciples
Article1ThisLawisenactedinordertoprotectthelawfulrightsandinterestsofthecontractingparties,tomaintainsocialandeconomicorder,andtopromotetheprocessofsocialistmodernization.
Article2AcontractinthisLawreferstoanagreementamongnaturalpersons,legalpersonsorotherorganizationsasequalpartiesfortheestablishment,modificationofarelationshipinvolvingthecivilrightsandobligationsofsuchentities.
Agreementsconcerningpersonalrelationshipssuchasmarriage,adoption,guardianship,etc.shallbegovernedbytheprovisionsinotherlaws.
Article3Contractingpartiesshallhaveequallegalstatus,andnopartymayimposeitswillontheotherparty.
Article4Thepartieshavetherighttolawfullyenterintoacontractoftheirownfreewillinaccordancewiththelaw,andnounitorindividualmayillegallyinterferetherewith.
Article5Thepartiesshalladheretotheprincipleoffairnessindecidingtheirrespectiverights
