Abstract
Withtheincreasingdemandforenergy,ithasbecomenecessarytooptimizethecontrolmodesinpowersystemstomaintainstabilityandbalancebetweenthesupplyanddemandofelectricity.Therefore,thisresearchaimedtooptimizetheAutomaticGenerationControl(AGC)modeintheHainanpowergrid.
ThisstudyproposedanewAGCcontrolstrategythatadoptsafuzzylogiccontrollertooptimizethetraditionalproportional-integralPIDcontrolmode.Byincorporatingthefuzzylogiccontroller,theAGCcontrolsystemwasabletoadjustthepoweroutputbasedonreal-timefrequencyresponsewhileconsideringtheimpactofdifferentfactors.
TheresultsdemonstratedthattheproposedAGCcontrolstrategycanmaintainsystemstabilityandguaranteeoptimalpoweroutputintheHainanpowergridunderdifferentloaddemandscenarios.Furthermore,itwasvalidatedthatthefuzzylogiccontrollershowedsuperiorperformancecomparedtothetraditionalPIDcontroller,especiallyinthecaseofnonlinearityanduncertainty.
Introduction
Electricityisthefoundationofmodernsociety,andthereisanever-growingdemandforsafe,reliable,andsustainablepowersupplysystems.Duetotheunpredictabilityofrenewableenergysources,thefrequencyofpowersystemsfluctuates,anditisessentialtobalancethesupplyanddemandofelectricity[1].Inthisregard,theAutomaticGenerationControl(AGC)playsanimportantroleinregulatingfrequency,ensuringpowerbalance,controllingactivepower,andensuringthestabilityofthepowergrid[2].
However,thetraditionalAGCcontrolmodethatemploystheProportionalIntegralDerivative(PID)controllermaynotbeadequatetohandlesystemnonlinearity,uncertainty,timevariance,orcomplexdynamics[3].Inthisstudy,weproposedanovelAGCcontrolstrategythatutilizesafuzzylogiccontrollertooptimizethetraditionalPIDcontrolmodeintheHainanpowergrid.
Methodology
TheHainanpowergridisatypicalexampleofpowersystemswithrenewableenergysources,andthestudysitewasselectedtodemonstratetheeffectivenessoftheproposedAGCcontrolstrategy.Ahierarchicalcontrolarchitecturewasemployed,includingtheprimaryandsecondaryfrequencycontrolloopsthatoperateatdifferenttimescales.
