第一篇：里根就职演说美国历届总统就职演说（里根）SecondInauguralAddressofRonaldReaganMONDAY,JANUARY21,1985SenatorMathias,ChiefJusticeBurger,VicePresidentBush,SpeakerO'Neill,SenatorDole,ReverendClergy,membersofmyfamilyandfriends,andmyfellowcitizens:Thisdayhasbeenmadebrighterwiththepresencehereofonewho,foratime,hasbeenabsent--SenatorJohnStennis.Godblessyouandwelcomeback.Thereis,however,onewhoisnotwithustoday:RepresentativeGillisLongofLouisianaleftuslastnight.Iwonderifwecouldalljoininamomentofsilentprayer.(Momentofsilentprayer.)Amen.Therearenowordsadequatetoexpressmythanksforthegreathonorthatyouhavebestowedonme.Iwilldomyutmosttobedeservingofyourtrust.Thisis,asSenatorMathiastoldus,the50thtimethatwethepeoplehavecelebratedthishistoricoccasion.WhenthefirstPresident,GeorgeWashington,placedhishandupontheBible,hestoodlessthanasingleday'sjourneybyhorsebackfromraw,untamedwilderness.Therewere4millionAmericansinaunionof13States.Todayweare60timesasmanyinaunionof50States.Wehavelightedtheworldwithourinventions,gonetotheaidofmankindwhereverintheworldtherewasacryforhelp,journeyedtotheMoonandsafelyreturned.Somuchhaschanged.Andyetwestandtogetheraswedidtwocenturiesago.WhenItookthisoathfouryearsago,Ididsoinatimeofeconomicstress.Voiceswereraisedsayingwehadtolooktoourpastforthegreatnessandglory.Butwe,thepresent-dayAmericans,arenotgiventolookingbackward.Inthisblessedland,thereisalwaysabettertomorrow.Fouryearsago,Ispoketoyouofanewbeginningandwehaveaccomplishedthat.Butinanothersense,ournewbeginningisacontinuationofthatbeginningcreatedtwocenturiesagowhen,forthefirsttimeinhistory,government,thepeoplesaid,wasnotourmaster,itisourservant;itsonlypowerthatwhichwethepeopleallowittohave.Thatsystemhasneverfailedus,but,foratime,wefailedthesystem.Weaskedthingsofgovernmentthatgovernmentwasnotequippedtogive.WeyieldedauthoritytotheNationalGovernmentthatproperlybelongedtoStatesortolocalgovernmentsortothepeoplethemselves.Weallowedtaxesandinflationtorobusofourearningsandsavingsandwatchedthegreatindustrialmachinethathadmadeusthe
