Theincreasingadoptionofelectricvehicles(EVs)hasledtoanurgentneedforthedevelopmentofefficientcharginginfrastructure.Thispaperproposesamethodologyfortheoptimalsiteselectionandcapacityplanningofelectricvehiclechargingstations.Specifically,weconsiderchargingstationswithdifferentchargingcapacitiesinordertomeetthediverseneedsoftheEVusers.TheobjectiveistomaximizethecoverageofEVchargingdemandwhileensuringtheeconomicviabilityofthecharginginfrastructure.Theproposedmethodologyinvolvesthreemainsteps:datacollectionandanalysis,siteselection,andcapacityplanningoptimization.Byimplementingthismethodology,EVchargingstationoperatorscaneffectivelyallocateresourcesandstrategicallyplanforfuturegrowth.
1.Introduction:
Thetransitiontowardssustainabletransportationhasledtoariseintheadoptionofelectricvehicles.However,thelimitedavailabilityandaccessibilityofcharginginfrastructureposeasignificantchallengetothewidespreaduseofEVs.Toaddressthischallenge,itiscrucialtostrategicallyselectthesitesforEVchargingstationsanddeterminetheirchargingcapacities.ThispaperaimstodevelopanoptimizationmethodologythattakesintoaccountthedifferentchargingcapacitiesofchargingstationstoimprovethecoverageandefficiencyofEVcharginginfrastructure.
