I.OverviewoftheRoHSDirective:
TheRoHSDirective,enactedin2002andthenrevisedin2011,restrictstheuseofhazardoussubstancesinelectricalandelectronicequipment.Thedirectivelimitsthepresenceofsubstancessuchaslead,mercury,cadmium,andbrominatedflameretardants.CompliancewithRoHSiscompulsoryformanufacturersexportingelectricalandelectronicequipmenttoEUmemberstates.
