Abstract:
Goldextractionfromoresusingthiosulfateleachingtechnologyhasgainedsignificantattentioninrecentyearsduetoitspotentialasanon-toxicandenvironmentallyfriendlyalternativetotraditionalcyanide-basedprocesses.Thispaperprovidesacomprehensivereviewofthethiosulfateleachingtechnologyforgoldextraction,coveringitschemistry,mechanisms,advantages,challenges,andfutureprospects.Theaimofthisreviewistoprovideacomprehensiveunderstandingofthethiosulfateleachingtechniqueanditspotentialapplicationingoldmining.
1.Introduction:
Goldextractionhasbeenanimportantindustryforcenturies,withtraditionalmethodsrelyingheavilyontheuseoftoxiccyanidecompounds.However,concernsovertheenvironmentalandhealthrisksassociatedwithcyanide-basedprocesseshaveledtotheexplorationofalternativeextractionmethods.Thiosulfateleachingtechnologyhasemergedasapromisingalternativeduetoitslowertoxicityandpotentialforselectivegoldrecovery.
