Summary

TheglobaleconomicoutlookhasimprovedsinceTheworldeconomyisalsograpplingwith
January,withmajoreconomiesavoidingaseverechallengestoacceleratethetransitiontonet
downturn.Theworldeconomyisnowprojectedzeroemissions.Technologicalbreakthroughs–
togrowby2.7percentin2024,insteadof2.4perespeciallyinrenewablesandbatteries,requiring
centforecastedearlier,onthebackofbetter-extraction,processinganduseofcriticalminerals
than-expectedperformanceoftheUnitedStates–hasopenedupnewopportunitiesforboosting
economyandsomeimprovementintheoutlookeconomicgrowthandachievingtheSustainable
forseverallargeemergingeconomies.ThemodestDevelopmentGoals,especiallyinmineral-rich
gaininthegrowthmomentumispartlyofsetbydevelopingeconomies.Takingadvantageof
thedownwardrevisionsofthegrowthoutlookforsuchopportunitiesandavoidingarenewed
theEuropeanUnion,Africa,andWesternAsia.On“resourcecurse”willrequiresoundnational
balance,thenear-termeconomicoutlookisonlypoliciesandefectiveimplementationcapacities.
