Abstract

Thetitleisanimportantpartofthenews.Goodtitlecanarousereader’sreadinginterestanddesire;canleavetheclearanddeepimpressiontothereader.Itplaysrolesofguiding,generalizationandpromptingthenews.Agoodtitlecannotonlyplaytheroleofbeautificationlayout,moreimportantistobeabletoconcentratethesoulofnews,graspthemainidea,andattractthereader’seyeball.Therefore,thetitleisoftenregardedasnewsreports"eyes".Thereadertoreadnews,areusedtoreadthetitle,andthendecidewhethertoreadthetext.Peopleoftenuse"agoodbeginningishalfthebattle","readthenewspaperlookatthetopicfirst"toillustratetheimportanceofthetitle.SothisthesisisfirstlyintendedtointroducesomefeaturesofEnglishnewsheadlines,includingthelexicalcharacteristics,thegrammarcharacteritics,therhetoriccharacteristicsandformcharacteristicstoanalyzethefeaturesofEnglishnewsheadlines.Inaddtiion,readingthenewsasthemainwayforpeopletoobtainthepolitical,ecnonmic,scientificandculturalinfoumationintoday’ssociety.Newstitleastheheightofthenewscontentsummaryandconcertration,mustbebriefconciseandmeettherequiremnetsofthelayoutandreader.Titletranslationiscorrectornotwillaffectthenewswhetherpalytheirduepqreadvalue.Sothesecondpartfromtheliteraltranslation,liberaltranslation,amplificationtranslation,omissiontranslationandhowtousetheadvantagesofChinesetranslationtohandletherhetoricfeatures.ThelastpartwillintroducesomeofthedifferencesinbothChineseandEnglishnewsheadlines,soastocatchthemainpointsofthenewsheadlines,wecanunderstandthenewsbetter.

标题是新闻的重要组成部分，对新闻起引导、概括和提示的作用，一个好的标题不仅能起到美化版面的作用，更重要的是浓缩新闻的灵魂，抓住文章主旨，吸引读者的眼球。因此，标题通常被视作新闻报道的“眼睛”。读者阅读新闻，都是习惯先看标题，然后再决定是否阅读正文。人们常用“题好一半文”、“看报先看题”来说明标题的重要性。此论文分别从用词特点、语法特点、修辞特点、形式特点来分析英语新闻标题的特点。此外，阅读新闻是人们可以获取当今社会政治、经济、科学文化等信息的主要途径，新闻标题作为新闻内容的高度概括和集中，必须简短精练，才能符合版面要求和读者要求。标题翻译是否准确会影响该新闻能否发挥其应有的传播价值，所以第二部分将从直译法、意译法、增
